Independent film festival Raindance is launching the UK first independent web film festival this autumn.

London Web Fest, which will be held on September 28 and 29, will feature screenings of web content, alongside the festival programme, as well panel events. It will be held at the Apollo Cinema in Piccadilly Circus.

Creatives and studio executives are increasingly looking to web series for the next generation of directors, actors, producers and writers, as short form content is seen as a new way of honing essential filmmaking skills.
