Red Flag Releasing is to give independent crime thriller Meskada a simultaneous US theatrical/VOD/digital download release on December 3.
Produced by Red Flag partner (and Four of a Kind Productions CEO) Ron Stein, Meskada will be the first narrative feature release from the company, launched at the start of this year by Stein and former Warner Independent executives Paul Federbush and Laura Kim.
Meskada had its world premiere at the Tribeca festival in April, where it was acquired for worldwide sales by Ember Films, the new specialty label of Inferno Entertainment. Ember has sold the film for Benelux, Korea, the Middle East, Turkey, Greece, and Thailand and says a UK deal is imminent.
Written and directed by Josh Sternfeld, Meskada is the story of a small town detective trying to solve the murder of a three-year-old boy in an affluent suburb. The film stars Nick Stahl, Rachel Nichols, Kellan Lutz, Grace Gummer and Norman Reedus. It was produced by Jay Kubassek, Ron Stein, Jen Gatien, Michael Goodin and Shawn Rice and executive produced by Sig De Miguel and Stephen Vincent.
