Rikke Ennis’ Danish outfit REinvent has closed a string of deals on its slate of upcoming films at the EFM.
They include Aku Louhimies’ Finnish action thriller Omerta 6/12, which has sold to Spain (A Contracorriente). Filming is underway on the feature, which will be delivered by the end of the year, while a four-part series version of the project is also being readied for mid-2022.
The story is based on Ilkka Remes’ best-selling novel 6/12, about a hostage crisis that occurs on Finland’s Independence Day. The cast includes Jasper Pääkkönen, Nanna Blondell and Sverrir Gudnason.
REinvent has also sold Margrete - Queen of the North to Spain (Artmood), after also recently closing a deal for Germany (Splendid). Charlotte Sieling’s historical epic stars Trine Dyrholm as the powerful Margrete I of Denmark. The film is in post and will be delivered in the third quarter of 2021.
Erik Poppe’s The Emigrants sold to Hungary (Vertigo Media) and Former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom Film). The period drama stars Gustaf Skarsgård, Sofia Helin, Laurence Kinlan and Lisa Carlehed in the classic story of a Swedish family who moves to America in the 1850s. The film will be delivered in late 2021.
In addition, Bille August’s The Pact, which is in post-production, sold to Former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom Film). The drama is about a young writer who has a complicated relationship with Out of Africa author Karen Blixen.
As reported this week, REinvent’s Swedish character-driven crime drama Snow Angels sold to ARD Degeto for Germany.
