Roadside Attractions has acquired North American rights to 2022 Venice entry Dreamin’ Wild starring Casey Affleck and Noah Jupe.
The distributor plans an exclusive nationwide theatrical release on August 4 for director Bill Pohlad’s (Love & Mercy) drama about real-life musician brothers Donnie and Joe Emerson, who find fame 30 years after their rediscovered album was seemingly consigned to oblivion.
Casey plays the older Donnie Emerson and Jupe plays the younger version. The cast includes Zooey Deschanel, Walton Goggins, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Beau Bridges.
Serving as producers are Jim Burke, River Road’s Pohlad and Kim Roth, and Zurich Avenue’s Viviana Vezzani and Karl Spoerri. Affleck is an executive producer alongside River Road co-president Christa Workman, Dan Clifton, Steven Snyder, and Tobias Gutzwiller.
Dreamin’ Wild is a River Road Entertainment, Innisfree Pictures, and Zurich Avenue production. Zurich Avenue co-financed the feature alongside River Road.
Roadside Attractions co-president Howard Cohen and VP acquisitions Angel An negotiated the deal with Workman with CAA Media Finance.
