Rob Huber to leave Twentieth Century Fox after 16 years to take Universal Pictures International role.
Universal Pictures International (UPI) has named its new managing director UK & Ireland as Rob Huber, who will leave Twentieth Century Fox after 16 years.
Huber will manage day-to-day operations for one of UPI’s biggest theatrical markets and assumes the position previously held by Niels Swinkels, who was promoted to EVP international distribution in December.
Huber will report to Swinkels and takes up the role on March 2.
In his new role, Huber will work with Swinkels to drive box office revenues and set strategic goals and objectives for the UK and Ireland operating companies.
He will oversee sales, marketing, publicity and finance functions and work closely with UPI functional leaders in marketing, finance, legal, acquisitions and human resources to maximize performance in the region.
Huber began his tenure with Twentieth Century Fox International in 1999, when he was appointed UK financial controller for the theatrical, licensing and television divisions.
In 2002, Huber became European finance director, overseeing operations in 14 markets, and was responsible for local, studio and third party reporting.
From 2007, he has served as VP of sales and distribution EMEA.
Prior to his time at Fox, Huber began his career as a PR consultant for Hill & Knowlton Ltd. in 1991 before pursuing roles in advertising and publishing at J. Walter Thompson Ltd. and Time Life International Ltd., respectively.
