Friends and colleagues will gather on Sunday (13) in Cannes to celebrate the life of Robbie Little, the independent film industry stalwart who died last week en route to the market.
The event is scheduled to take place at The Members Club at Plage 45 from 6.30-9pm. Producer Debbie Gray and fellow organisers of the evening said those who knew Little are welcome to attend.
Little, the British producer and sales agent, died unexpectedly in London as he was preparing to travel to Cannes. He is survived by his wife and The Little Film Company co-president Ellen Little.
He was a part of a small group of independent industry professionals who established the Independent Film & Television Alliance and helped set up the AFM in 1980.
Together with Ellen he played a role in financing, producing and distributing more than 300 films, among them Waking Ned Devine, Before Night Falls, A Map Of The World, Julie Walking Home, The Unbelievable Truth, Between Strangers, Evelyn, and The Secret Of Roan Inish.
Gray and The Little Film Company associates are at the market and will oversee previously scheduled meetings with buyers.
Little was a lifelong animal lover and well-wishers are asked to make a donation in his memory to either The Ginny Fund or DAWGSNTEXAS.
