Storyboard Media has announced a slew of sales at AFM on its all-star action comedy The Comeback Trail with current awards contender Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones and Morgan Freeman.
George Gallo, whose writing credits include Bad Boys and Midnight Run, directs the film (see exclusive first-look picture), which has gone in France (Originals Factory), Spain (Vertice 360), Italy (Eagle Pictures), Middle East (Eagle Films), Latin America (IDC), South Korea (Noori), Hong Kong (Edko), Taiwan (Applause), and CIS (Volga).
Further deals closed in Eastern Europe (ProRom), Poland (Monolith), Greece (Tanweer), Portugal (Nos Lusomundo), Indonesia (PT Falcon), Philippines (TBA), Turkey (Aqua), and Israel (Forum). Fox acquired pan-Asian pay-TV and Cinesky took airlines rights.
Richard Salvatore and Storyboard Media’s Phillip Kim and Patrick Hibler produced alongside David Ornston, Joy Sirott Hurwitz, and Julie Lott Gallo. Executive producers are Storyboard Media’s Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard, Martin Sprock, Ryan Johnston, and Patrick Muldoon.
Zach Braff and Emile Hirsch also star in The Comeback Trail, which centres on a man indebted to a crime lord who sets up an insurance scam involving a washed-up actor in a production of a western film. Josh Posner co-wrote the screenplay with Gallo based on Harry Hurwitz’s 1982 film of the same name.
Storyboard’s film slate includes Edward James Olmos’ environmental thriller The Devil Has A Name, and Liam Hemsworth, Vince Vaughn and John Malkovich in the thriller Arkansas.
