Gaia Tridente has been appointed director of Rome’s International Audiovisual Market (MIA), which will run as a physical event from October 11-15,2022.
Tridente has worked at MIA since 2017, most recently as head of scripted. She succeeds Lucia Milazzotto, who spent two editions in the role before leaving last October, and will be assisted by two deputy directors: head of film content Francesca Palleschi, and head of doc/factual content Marco Spagnoli.
Tridente previously spent 10 years as head of international programming at RomaFictionFest, and also served as director of European relations for the Fondazione Rossellini per l’Audiovisivo from 2010 to 2011, and worked on programming at the Taormina Film Fest and Europa Cinema until 2007.
Last year’s edition of MIA was also able to take place in person, whilst it was a hybrid event in 2020.
