Vanja Kaludjercic, festival director of the Rotterdam International Film Festival, Julien Rejl, new director of Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight, and Olivier Barbier, head of acquisitions at mk2 films, will sit on the jury of the fifth edition of the European Works In Progress Cologne (EWIP)
The industry event will take place from October 17-19, in the run up to Germany’s Cologne Film Festival (October 20-27). Thirty European co-productions will pitch to an international industry audience for several prizes worth a total of €52,500.
Also on the five-personjury is Saralisa Volm, a German filmmaker, author, actor and producer, of production company Poisson, whose debut feature The Silent Forest premiered at Berlin this year, and Thanassis Karathanos of German production outfits Twenty-Twenty Vision and Pallas Film. He has produced titles including Clouds Of Sils Maria and Cannes premieres The Gravedigger’s Wife and Mariupolis.
EWIP is organised with the support of regional film fund Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, in cooperation with AG Verleih, the association of German independent film distributors.
