Saban Films has acquired Bruce Willis revenge thriller Soul Assassin for North America as well as Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, France, South Africa and Scandinavia.
Willis stars with Nomzamo Mbatha and Barry Jay Minoff in the film, directed by Jesse Atlas and written by Atlas and Aaron Wolfe, based on their short Let Them Die Like Lovers.
The feature, about a former black ops soldier who takes the place of a man killed in an experimental military programme, recently wrapped principal photography and is set to be released next year.
Jeff Elliott produced and 120dB Films co-financed with Elliott’s Brickell and Broadbridge, which is handling worldwide sales.
Soul Assassin is the latest in a string of collaborations between Willis and Saban. Willis starred in the company’s recently released titles Cosmic Sin and Breach and appears in upcoming projects Paradise City and Reactor.
Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley said: “We love working with Bruce and are particularly excited for Soul Assassin. Jesse’s Let Them Die Like Lovers was such a high-concept, character-driven thriller and we can’t wait for audiences to see this revenge story.”
