EXCLUSIVE: Shoot on UK action feature Montana starring Lars Mikkelsen due to get underway mid-February; Salt to handle sales.
Mo Ali’s Montana, starring The Killing’s Lars Mikkelsen, BAFTA Rising Star winner Adam Deacon, rapper turned actor Ashley Walters and newcomer Mckell David, is due to get underway in London in mid-February.
Mikkelsen will play a steely eastern European hitman who arrives in London to avenge the death of his family but is held up after stumbling on a 14 year-old boy (played by David), himself on the run from drug lords trying to kill him.
Produced by Mark Foligno and Gareth Maxwell Roberts, the Molifilms production is being sold by UK sales outfit The Salt Company at the EFM. Writers are Peter Lowe and Jeremy Sheldon.
Also new on Salt’s slate is horror Whitaker, executive-produced by Ben Wheatley and produced by Wheatley regular Andrew Starke of Rook Films.
Commercials and shorts director Jim Hosking makes his feature debut on the story of a maverick scientist who discovers a way to swap bodies with unwitting victims leading to terrifying consequences.
Currently out to cast for a summer shoot, the film is the second on UK distributor-producer Metrodome’s genre slate.
