Screen International will host a high-level conference on September 24, 2024 in London to debate how the UK independent film sector can build on its strengths to become a fully thriving, equitable and sustainable industry.
’Screen Summit 2024: The Future of UK Film’ will bring together leading industry executives at BFI Southbank to discuss topics that will aim to give attendees the insight and intelligence to:
- navigate the new Independent Film Tax Credit and matching it with international incentives;
- discover what kinds of stories and packages private financiers are looking to support and talent agents are hoping to put in front of their clients;
- learn from distributors who have guided UK indie films to box office success;
- understand how innovations like AI and virtual production are going to impact and enhance the industry;
- discover the benefits of bringing fresh and diverse voices into the industry.
Matt Mueller, Screen International’s editor-in-chief, said: “Following the launch of the new tax credit which is widely expected to boost independent film in the UK, we think this is an important moment in the future of UK film and the right time to bring the industry together to discuss some of the key opportunities – and challenges – in the UK market.”
The full line-up of speakers and keynote addresses will be announced in the coming weeks.
