Screen Media has acquired US rights from Double Dutch International to the animated feature Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer, featuring the voices of Josh Hutcherson, Samantha Bee, John Cleese, Martin Short, Jeff Dunham, and Morena Baccarin.
Jennifer Westcott directed the story about a determined miniature horse who travels to the North Pole with his pal Hazel the goat to win a spot on Santa’s celebrated sleigh team. Lucas Lynette-Krech and Awesometown Entertainment produced in association with Elgin Road Productions Ltd.
Screen Media has set a November 30 theatrical release, after senior vice-president of worldwide acquisitions Seth Needle brokered the deal with CEO Jason Moring and senior vice-president of sales and acquisitions Mark Padilla of Toronto-based Double Dutch International. Elevation Pictures will distribute in Canada.
“Elliot is an awesome inspirational tale of overcoming the odds and dreaming big to achieve your goals – all of which is what we strive for at Screen Media,” said Needle. “Elliot is the perfect family holiday movie and we know audiences nationwide are going to love it.”
“We are very proud to have Screen Media as our partner on this wonderful film that the whole family can enjoy together” added Padilla.
