Searchlight Pictures has scheduled a limited awards corridor theatrical release on December 8 for the drama Magazine Dreams, which earned rave reviews for Jonathan Majors when it premiered at Sundance.
Elijah Bynum directed Magazine Dreams, which follows a troubled aspiring bodybuilder living with his war veteran grandfather as he tries to get out of the way of his own demons and realise professional and personal ambitions.
The cast includes Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Harrison Page, Harriet Sansom Harris, and Mike O’Hearn. Jennifer Fox, Dan Gilroy, Jeffrey Soros, Simon Horsman served as producers.
Serving as executive producers were Majors, under his production company Tall Street Productions, Luke Rodgers, and Andrew Blau.
Magazine Dreams premiered in Sundance’s US Dramatic Competition and earned the festival’s jury award for creative vision. Searchlight pounced on worldwide rights after the festival.
Majors is one of the most sought-after rising stars in Hollywood. He plays the villain Kang The Conqueror in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, and his credits include box office hit Creed III, Devotion, Lovecraft Country, and The Last Black Man In San Francisco.
