The San Francisco Film Society has announced Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab as its selection for the Fall 2013 Artist In Residence programme.
“With the ongoing upheaval and turmoil in Egypt, the timing of Mohamed’s residency is both prescient and significant,” said SFFS director of education Joanne Parsont.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome him and his wife and producer Sarah Goher to San Francisco to share their film and their experiences with us and the Bay Area community.”
During his Oct 1-15 residency, Diab will lecture in high school and college classrooms, give an artist talk at SFFS’s FilmHouse and screen his feature-length debut Cairo 678 on Oct 10.
