Signature Entertainment has boarded UK-Ireland, France and Scandinavia rights on action-thriller Land Of Bad, as production gets underway on the Gold Coast and in South East Queensland, Australia.
Signature is planning an early 2024 release for the film, which stars Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth.
Directed by Will Eubank, the cast also includes Luke Hemsworth, Milo Ventimiglia, Ricky Whittle, Daniel MacPherson and Chika Ikogwe.
Land Of Bad is written by Eubank and David Frigerio, who previously co-wrote 2014 sci-fi The Signal, also directed by Eubank.
The duo are also producers on Land Of Bad for Broken Open Pictures, alongside Adam Beasley and Michael Jefferson for Volition Media Partners, with R.U. Robot and Highland Film Group.
Highland Film Group is representing international sales on the film.
Land Of Bad follows an Air Force drone pilot – played by Crowe – on a mission that goes terribly wrong, who has 48 hours to effect a wild rescue operation.
Elizabeth Williams, director of acquisitions and development at Signature Entertainment, described the film as “the definition of a high-stakes, entertaining action thriller that packs a gripping and authentic punch.”
