Sky has struck a wide-ranging deal with NBC Universal giving it exclusive TV access to all the US giant’s movies and extending carriage of its UK channels on the pay platform.
The TV deal, struck with Universal Networks International (UNI), covers Universal Channel, E! Entertainment, Syfy, The Style Network and Movies 24. Sky’s advertising and sponsorship sales house will continue to represent NBCU’s channels.
The multi-year movies deal, struck with International Television Distribution, covers NBC Universal’s current, upcoming and library feature films.
All movies will be made available to Sky customers on-demand, on Sky Go, as well as in High Definition (HD) and 3D where available.
The films will be available to Sky Movies subscribers after their cinema run and before running on other services, meaning they get first access to the likes of Snow White & The Huntsman, Battleship, Ted, The Bourne Legacy, ParaNorman and Savages.
The movies will also be available to Sky’s OTT service Now TV across connected TVs and PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, YouView, Xbox and selected Android smartphones.
