Pernille Fischer Christensen’s Swedish drama to reunite Mikael Persbrandt and Trine Dyrholm.
TrustNordisk is to start pre-sales in Cannes on upcoming Danish feature Someone You Love, by director Pernille Fischer Christensen.
It will star Mikael Persbrandt (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug), Trine Dyrholm (A Royal Affair) and Borgen actress Birgitte Hjort Sørensen.
The film reunites Persbrandt and Dyrholm for the first time since Academy Award-winning In A Better World, released in 2010.
It tells the story of a selfish musician who gets chance to redeem himself when a tragic incident changes his life.
Director Christensen won Berlin’s Jury Grand Prix and Best Debut Feature with A Soap in 2006, and was followed by Dancers (2008) and A Family (2010).
Someone You Love has been written by Christensen and Kim Fupz Aakeson, and is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Vinca Wiedemann for Zentropa Entertainment’s16 ApS.
It is being co-produced by Zentropa International Sweden, Film I Väst and FilmFyn with support from The Danish Film Institute, The Swedish Film Institute and Nordisk Film and TV Fund in collaboration with TV2 Denmark, SVT and with support from the EU’s Media Programme.
The domestic release is set for March 2014 through Nordisk Film Distribution.
