Netflix said on Tuesday (May 31) that Stranger Things 4 debuted top of its viewership charts in 83 countries to score the platform’s biggest launch weekend for an English-language TV show with 286.79m hours viewed.
Earlier seasons of the sci-fi show featured in the top 10. Season 1 ranked third on 38.05m hours viewed, Season 3 placed fourth on 24.29m, and Season 2 ranked fifth on 22.21m.
The Lincoln Lawyer placed second for the week on 64.82m hours viewed and finished in the top 10 in 75 countries. The second half of Ozark Season 4 ranked sixth on 21.91m while Bridgerton Season 2 placed ninth on 11.34m.
Turning to the non-English-language TV chart for the week, Spanish thriller Wrong Side Of The Tracks led the way on 61.62m hours viewed and placed in the top 10 in 71 countries. The third season of Mexican thriller Who Killed Sara? was next on 31.84m, followed by the first season in third place on 14.6m hours viewed.
Rom-com A Perfect Pairing topped the English-language feature weekly chart on 32.63m hours viewed and featured in the top 10 in 93 countries. Feel-good comedy Senior Year starring Rebel Wilson came second on 24.56m. In the non-English-language roster, Indian epic RRR Hindi led the way on 18.36m followed by Dutch rom-com F*ck Love Too on 15.6m.
