The UK premiere of Good Luck To You, Leo Grande will open the 2022 Sundance Film Festival: London, with lead actors Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack both expected to attend.
The festival, which is running at Picturehouse Central from June 9-12, includes 12 feature films that premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, plus a surprise screening for a film that also bowed at this year’s festival.
Along with Good Luck To You, Leo Grande, titles selected for this year’s Sundance London include Lena Dunham’s Sharp Stick; Andrew Semans’ psychological thriller Resurrection starring Rebecca Hall and Tim Roth; and Adamma Ebo’s dark comedy Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul.
The UK premiere of Jim Archer’s feature Brian and Charles, presented by Time Out, will close the festival. The quirky comedy follows lonely and unlucky inventor Brian (played by UK actor and comedian David Earl) who builds a robot companion.
The selection is rounded out by A Love Song by Max Walker-Silverman, Sara Dosa’s Fire Of Love, US duo Julie Ha and Eugene Yi’s documentary Free Sol Choo Lee, Chloe Okuno’s debut feature Watcher, Ed Perkins’ Princess Diana documentary The Princess, We Met in Virtual Reality directed by Joe Hunting, and Hatching from Finnish director Hanna Bergholm.
All of the selected features are UK premieres. The festival will also include two short film programmes, including a strand dedicated to UK shorts, as well as its first dedicated Industry Programme.
