‘Conclave’

Telluride Film Festival has announced the line-up before the festival starts on Friday, with world premieres for Edward Berger’s Conclave, RaMell Ross’ Nickel Boys, and Robbie Williams musical biopic Better Man.

Also making the cut in the main programme are documentaries Leonardo Da Vinci from Ken Burns, Kevin Macdonald’s One To One: John & Yoko, and R. J. Cutler’s Martha Stewart film.

Tim Fehlbaum’s September 5 and Joshua Openheimer’s The End are in the main programme, alongside Cannes favourites Anora, The Seed Of The Sacred FigAll We Imagine As Light, and Emilia Pérez.

The 51st Telluride Film Festival running August 30-September 2 will screen close to 60 features, shorts, and revival programmes, along with filmmaker tributes, conversations, panels, and student programmes.

This year’s tribute roster sees the 2024 Silver Medallion Awards going to Jacques Audiard, attending with Emilia Pérez, Saoirse Ronan, in town with The Outrun, and Thelma Schoonmaker. Each tribute programme includes a selection of clips, the presentation of the Silver Medallion award, and an on-stage interview.

Special Screenings brings: Jean Cocteau 1946 Beauty And The Beast, Alain Tanner’s 1969 film Charles, Dead Or Alive, SXSW entry and BASE jumping documentary Fly from Christina Clusiau and Shaul Schwarz, Maurice Elvey’s Hindle Wakes with live musical accompaniment by Donald Sosin, and Sean Baker’s 2008 film Prince Of Broadway.

Backlot, Telluride’s “intimate screening room featuring behind-the-scenes movies and portraits of artists, musicians and filmmakers” will screen the following:
