New Thai production and sales company Neramitnung Film is launching its market debut at Filmart Online with a trio of monster and horror films, building on the success of box office hit 4 Kings.
The slate includes monster features Leio and The 100, both directed by visual effects specialist Chalit Krileadmongkon.
Leio is billed as an adventure comedy that follows a once-famous singer, played by former pop star Pichaya Nitipaisalkul, who returns to his hometown and takes part in a water field drilling contest, hoping to win a large cash prize. But what they do not realise is that a mysterious beast lurks underground.
The 100 is an adventure thriller set in a quarantine hotel where overseas travellers stay in isolation to curb the spread of a contagious virus, but they soon become prey to a strange breed of a 100-legged monster. The ensemble cast includes Mike Angelo, who starred in Renny Harlin’s The Misfits and is the twin brother of Pichaya, and Chanya Mcclory, who appeared in the second season of hit Netflix series Girl From Nowhere.
The third title on Neramitnung’s debut slate is Inhuman Kiss The Sequel, which marks the feature directorial debut of TV commercial director Paphangkorn Punchantarak. The romantic horror centres on a man born with abnormal genes and a half-demon woman, who both long to be loved.
As with the previous two features, the CGI will be handled by Chalit’s Fatcat VFX, a top visual effects company in Thailand.
Leio, Inhuman Kiss The Sequel and The 100 have been dated for domestic release this year on July 28, September 1 and October 6 respectively.
They follow the hit release of high school gang feature 4 Kings, which opened last December and went on to become the highest grossing Thai film of 2021, with a final box office of $5.3m (170m baht).
The film, which Neramitnung is also selling at Filmart Online, was recently picked up by streaming giant Netflix for Southeast Asia.
Neramitnung Film was founded in 2021 by Kanogwan Watchara, who operates an online marketing company and has a background in real estate. Panu Aree joined the company last month as general manager and head of international sales, having previously spent 18 years at Sahamongkolfilm International, handling foreign film acquisitions.
