Everything Everywhere All at Once writer-directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert will present the Filmmaker Keynote at next month’s 2022 Film Independent Forum in Los Angeles.
The duo, AKA The Daniels, are one of numerous A-list participants in the hybrid event set to run October 24-27 at the Directors Guild of America Theatre.
The line-up includes a screening of A24’s awards hopeful The Inspection followed by a Q&A with director Elegance Bratton, Gamechanger CEO-producer Effie T. Brown, and producer Chester Algernal Gordon.
On the agenda are screenings, workshops, one-on-one meetings and panels addressing financing, production and distribution, and social impact campaigns.
God’s Country producer Miranda Bailey, Prey producer Jhane Myers, Shiva Baby producer Lizzie Shapiro, The Film Agency founder and CEO Sarah Calderón, Pictufe Motion CEO Brian Walker, and Diego Najera, director of narrative films at Participant.
Virtual sessions available via the Forum’s platform will include feature film, documentary and episodic case studies, a financing and pitching clinic, producers roundtable, and sessions devoted to exploring the global marketplace for independent film, social impact, inclusion and sustainability issues.
“We are thrilled to spotlight The Inspection at the Forum,” said Maria Raquel Bozzi, senior director of education and international initiatives. “This is a full-circle moment for us as the film was supported through our artist development programmes, and Elegance and the producing team of veteran producer Effie T. Brown and rising talent Chester Algernal Gordon are all Film Independent Fellows, as alums of our artist development programmes.”
