Tim Roth will lead the cast of thriller Recovery, which is being directed by iBoy and I See You filmmaker Adam Randall.
The screenplay, by A Prayer Before Dawn writer Nick Saltrese, is a claustrophobic story of three men travelling from London to Birmingham in a truck, one of whom is a terrorist.
Producers are Roy Boulter and Sol Papadopoulos for Liverpool-based Hurricane Films. The film is a UK-Belgium co-production with Umedia. Backers also include Creative England’s West Midlands Fund.
Bankside Films has boarded the project for world sales. The company is also representing Randall’s upcoming thriller I See You, which is now in post-production, on its AFM slate and is reporting strong buyer interest.
Recovery is a three-hander and the two other leads are now being cast ahead of a shoot in spring 2019 in the UK and Belgium.
Roth is the star of Sky Atlantic series Tin Star, which has been has been recommissioned for a second season, and has also recently shot Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
“Tim Roth is an amazing actor, I’ve been a fan of his for so long. This part harks back to his early roles – such as Made In Britainand Meantime – in which he played working class characters on the fringes of society,” commented director Randall on the casting.
