Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy has been set for a North American release on Nov 18 through Focus Features, positioning the big screen version of John Le Carre’s classic spy thriller in the middle of awards season.

The film will open opposite teen drama The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and animated family film Happy Feet 2 in 3D.

Financed by StudioCanal and produced by Working Title, Tinker, Tailor was picked up for the US by Focus parent Universal at last February’s European Film Market in Berlin.

Gary Oldman, Oscar winner Colin Firth, Tom Hardy and Mark Strong star, with Tomas Alfredson directing. Peter Straughan and Bridget O’ Conner adapted the story and Working Title’s Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Robyn Slovo produced.
