UK sales, finance and production outfit Rocket Science has hired Patricia Arias as director of sales. She will relocate from Los Angeles to London to take on the post in the build-up to Cannes.
She is taking over from Diane Ferrandez, who has moved to AGC Studios as vice president of worldwide sales and distribution.
Arias’ previous posts include vice president of international sales and distribution at US production, financing and sales company Voltage Pictures, and vice president of Los Angeles-based sales and production outfit Film Mode Entertainment. She moved to Los Angeles in 2018 to work at Global Road, and has also managed the Mexico City office of Mundial, the international film sales joint venture between, IM Global and Canana.
Rocket Science titles playing in Cannes are David Cronenberg’s Crimes Of The Future, in official competition, and Thomas M Wright’s The Stranger in Un Certain Regard.
In October 2021, Rocket Science boosted its business affairs and marketing departments with three new hires: Elizabeth Kormanova (head of distribution), Diana Podra (business affairs coordinator) and Isabella Endacott (sales and marketing coordinator).
