  • IFC Midnight has acquired North American rights from Lightning Entertainment to Nick Robertson’s feature debut The Pack, the recent Fantasy Filmfest world premiere about a farmer’s family under siege from feral dogs.
  • Fortitude International has added Olga Kurylenko sci-fi thriller Android to its AFM slate. Niall Johnson will direct from the screenplay he wrote with Matt O’Reilly. Shooting is set for February at Infinite Studios Singapore.
  • AFI FEST 2015 has announced an on-stage conversation between Black Mass director Scott Cooper and Johnny Depp on November 8.
  • Strand Releasing has acquired all US rights to Shemi Zarhin’s Israeli comedy The Kind Words from Beta Cinema at the start of AFM.  
  • The Adrienne Shelly Foundation has partnered with The Horizon Award and producers Cassian Elwes, Christine Vachon and Lynette Howelto provide two winning female directors with a $2,500 Adrienne Shelly Filmmaker Grant in addition to their all-expense paid Sundance mentoring experience. 
  • Alchemy has hired Todd Green as svp of digital distribution. Green will report to Alchemy CEO Bill Lee and arrives from Tribeca Film, where he served as general manager.
