EXCLUSIVE: Elisabeth Rasmussen directs story of British punk rocker.

Virgil Films has acquired all US & Canadian rights to The Heart Of Bruno Wizard by Elisabeth Rasmussen.

The Norwegian production is about British rocker Bruno Wizard, big in the punk scene of the 1970s and ’80s.

The deal was negotiated by Virgil Films President Joseph Amodei and Rasmussen.

Virgil plans a theatrical launch in the autumn, followed by a DVD, VOD and digital release.

Amodei said: “Elisabeth Rasmussen has done a heroic job of rescuing the story of this unique, uncompromising player in a tumultuous period of rock and art history. We are thrilled to help bring Bruno Wizard back into the spotlight.”

Virgil’s past releases include Dark Horse, Restrepo, and Paul Williams: Still Alive.
