Video Services Corp (VSC) and Kino Lorber have signed a three-year multi-platform Canadian home entertainment distribution deal effective October 1.
The pact will see VSC distribute Kino Lorber releases in all packaged media formats in Canada as well as on select other platforms on a case-by-case basis.
The deal will cover Kino Lorber’s catalogue of more than 800 films and launches with the November 4 DVD and Blu-ray release of the Gary Cooper classic Man Of The West and Louis Malle’s 1965 film Viva Maria! starring Brigitte Bardot.
The pattern will climb to four-to-eight releases per month in Canada.
“Kino Lorber represents high-quality films, a leading brand with an experienced team that has a deep understanding of the film business” said VSC president Jonathan Gross. “We are very excited to add their strong catalogue and upcoming release slate to our product mix.”
“We are immensely pleased to have identified such an entrepreneurial and dynamic Canadian partner in VSC,” said Kino Lorber svp of home entertainment Alan Fergurson.
“The Canadian market will be well served by the quality of our films made more widely available now through the skilled efforts of this leading independent player.”
