The companies announced on December 18 that they will build additional theatres throughout China.

The 80 venues were contemplated in the July 2013 amendment of the parties’ original 2011 joint revenue share agreement, which added a minimum of 40 and up to 120 new IMAX theatres.

Rollout of the additional theatres is expected to begin in 2016 and the new waves will bring to 210 the total number of IMAX sites in China.

The parties added that the lease terms for all new and existing Wanda theatres have been extended from 10 to 12 years from theatre opening.
