XYZ Films has signed on to represent North American sales on Krazy House starring Nick Frost, Alicia Silverstone and Kevin Connolly, which marks the English-language feature debut of Dutch filmmaking duo Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil (Ron Goossens, Low Budget Stuntman.)
The producers have signed a deal with Splendid Films to distribute in Benelux and are expected to bring on an international sales agent shortly.
Production has just wrapped in Amsterdam on the 1990s-set story about a religious man (Frost) who must protect his family when Russian workers at their home turn out to be criminals and force the brood to tear the place up in search of hidden loot.
Rounding out the cast are Dutch Gaite Jansen, Walt Klink, Jan Bijvoet, Chris Peters, and Matti Stooker.
Maarten Swart will produce for Kaap Holland Film alongside Haars and van der Kuil, the founding members of Dutch comedy group New Kids whose filmmaking credits include New Kids Turbo and Bro’s Before Ho’s.
Kaap Holland Film’s Jorn Baars and XYZ’s Todd Brown are executive producers. Krazy House is made with the support of Netherlands Film Fund, Netherlands Film Production Incentive, and Abraham Tuschinski Fund Foundation.
Frost starred in Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Fighting With My Family and will next be seen in Alice Lowe’s feature Timestalker and the thriller Svalta directed by Haars and van der Kuil.
Silverstone stars in Jennifer Reeder’s Berlinale selection Perpetrator and Imran J. Khan’s SXSW-bound Mustache and broke out in Clueless.
Connolly’s credits include Secretariat, He’s Just Not That Into You, and HBO hit Entourage.
