The winning film will be screened at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival in June.

Nokia is to become the latest mobile phone company to embrace the film industry as it launches a short film competition with a $10,000 prize.

Aspiring film-makers are being asked to pitch a submission for a short film. The eight entrants who come up with the best ideas will be given $5000 and two Nokia N8 smartphones to make their short film with.

The winning short will be screened at the Edinburgh Film festival and will receive a jury prize of $10,000.
