Scandanavian sales company NonStop Sales has boarded Hidden (Skjult). It has acquired worldwide rights and will be introducing the film to buyers at Cannes.
Written and director by Pal Oie, Hidden tells the story of a young man who returns to the small town he left as a child, when he learns that his mother has died. The locals are not happy to see him and when a young couple out camping disappears, his troubles begin to overwhelm him. The cast includes Arthur Berning and Bjarte Hjelmeland.
The film was released in Norway five weeks ago and has taken $926,134 to date.
NonStop Sales’ slate also includes Leningrad. Alexander Buravsky directs and Mira Sorvino and Gabriel Byrne star. The film tracks the heroics and sacrifices of a young British journalist during the Nazi siege of Leningrad in the winter of 1941. The UK and the US territories are still available.
The Forest will receive its market premiere with NonStop Films. Ashvin Kumur directs the story of an urban couple on vacation have come to the jungle to sort out their troubled marriage. An encounter with a hungry leopard results in a night of terror.
