Further deals on both titles confirmed yesterday include Media Film (Slovenia + Croatia), P.C.V (Greece + Cyprus), and Flashstar/Five Stars Distribution (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay.) These follow on from the sales announced in Berlin to Intersonic for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary and to Five Stars Distribution for Israel.
'Gnomes And Trolls has clear potential of becoming one of Sweden's biggest export successes ever,' said Michael Werner, sales manager at NonStop Sales AB.
The first film, which will have its world premiere in the Cannes market, is about Junior, a teenage gnome who embarks on a heroic journey together with his best friend, Sneaky, a paranoid neurotic crow. Gnomes And Trolls II will be ready for Cannes 2009.
The executive producers of Gnomes And Trolls are Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow (the writers of Toy Story, Garfield I-II, Evan Almighty and The Simpsons Movie).
In seperate news, NonStop also announced a deal on historical epic Kautokeino by Nils Gaup, which has now been sold to Best Hollywood (Eastern Europe, CIS/Russia and the former Yugoslavia).
Meanwhile, it has closed a deal on its Rotterdam and Sundance crowd pleaser The King Of Ping Pong with Taiwan (Cineplex) and is in negotiation with several other key territories on the title.
