Start-up Swedish international sales agent NonStop Sales is launching at Cannes with two new titles - Shit Happens, by Maans Herngren and Hannes Holm, and Norwegian picture S.O.S by Thomas Robsahm.
The new online focused outfit will also handle international sales for leading Nordic producers such as Norway's John M. Jacobsen and Finland's Matila & Röhr Productions, as well as the Sandrew Metronome back catalogue which consists of more than 650 Nordic classics and new releases.
NonStop will initially focus on Nordic features. "The timing is good. Scandinavian cinema is having a renaissance at the moment and new technologies are creating new opportunities," said CG Anderson, CEO NonStop Sales and former CEO of Nordisk Film International. "With new distribution opportunities approaching rapidly we now have the global sales tool to meet this demand."
Anderson is setting up the company with Michael Werner, former sales manager of Nordisk Film International and founder of WFM International, which will merge with NonStop.
"This step is a strategic breakthrough for the gradually heating up [Scandinavian] market and I look forward to being part of it", said Michael Werner, who will head the new company. "An efficient online service to all our clients will be a key tool in the new market place."
Based in Stockholm, Sweden, NonStop Sales AB is a company within new media group Millennium Media Group AB (MMG). Other companies within the group are NonStop Entertainment AB, focusing on acquisiton and distribution of features for the Nordic market, and NonStop Television AB, focusing on developing and managing new digital TV services with the first channel, E! Scandinavia, to launch September 1.
MMG is backed by leading Swedish financial investment groups Ledstiernan AB and T-Bolaget AB, a media and internet focused investment company based in Gothenburg.
