Though dropping another 37%, The Return Of The King's 91 prints stayed on top of the Norwegian chart for another week, but saw the new release of Scary Movie 3 scare up a almost twice the screen average on just 35 prints.
Family comedy Freaky Friday also served up good numbers at third and also had a better average than The King.
This week's other new releases, Knut Erik Jensen's local feature documentary Paa hau i havet (Down The Drains) and Tom McCarthy's The Station Agent, fared less impressively, opening on nine and twelve.
Jensen's new movie was the opening film at the International Film Festival in Tromsoe this weekend, and is in the vein of his hugely popular Cool And Crazy - describing the cabaret tradition of the North Cape going back to 1929.
