Fledgling Danish production outfit NWR ApS, which teams long-time collaborators Nicolas Winding Refn and Henrik Danstrup, has signed a two-picture output deal with Scandinavian major Nordisk Film for distribution and international sales.
The two new features are Martin Schmidt's Rampage, a youth thriller with a twist written by Dennis Jurgensen, and Kuppet, a comedy about three friends, scripted by newcomer Oliver Kanafani. Kuppet may become the first picture in a series.
Meanwhile NWR's London outlet, NWR UK, co-owned by Rupert Preston of Metrodome Distribution, is developing low-budget UK club culture film Club Le Monde. The project is being written and directed by Simon Rumley who drew attention with his edgy debut Strong Language in 1998.
NWR is also developing Winding Refn's own English-language debut Fear The X, a thriller set in Arizona, co-written by Refn and Hubert Selby Jr. Winding Refn has also co-written a treatment for a Cabaret-style comedy with Alexander Rockwell.
