Odd Lot International has sold North American rights to its drama B-Girl to Screen Media Films and closed a raft of key international sales.
Rights have gone to Anchor Bay for the UK, Universum for Germany, Icon for Australia, Coral Pictures for South Korea, Spentzos for Greece, and VC Multimedia for Portugal.
Deals also closed in the Middle East (Gulf Film), South Africa (Nu Metro), Turkey (Mars Productions), Israel (AD Matalon), Poland, (Kino Swiat), the Czech Republic and Slovakia (AQS), and Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and former Yugoslavia (Prorom Media). Cinesky took airline rights.
The deals were brokered by Odd Lot’s executive vice-president of worldwide distribution Brian O’Shea and Screen Media Films’ Suzanne Blech and Robert Baruc.
Emily Dell’s feature directorial debut charts the plight of a young dancer from New York who tries to find success through breakdance. Dell’s sister Elizabeth Dell produced.
Jules ‘Lady Jules’ Urich, the world’s most decorated female break-dancer, stars in her first major role. Wesley Jonathan, Drew Sidora, Missy Yager and Aimee Garcia also star.
