UK’s leading cinema chain adds nine cinemas with a total of 62 screens
Odeon & UCI Cinemas today announced the acquisition in Ireland of nine existing cinemas with a total of 62 screens and two pipeline cinemas with a total of 15 screens from Entertainment Enterprises.
The existing circuit includes the two former UCI cinemas at Blanchardstown and Coolock, five Storm Cinemas, a newly opened UCI venue at Newbridge and the Stillorgan cinema recently acquired from Ormonde Cinemas.
EE have also signed leases to operate a nine screen cinema at Charlestown and a six screen cinema at the Point in Dublin and these form part of the transaction.
Odeon is currently in discussions to include a 400 seat IMAX screen at the Point.

The operator is the European leader in terms of IMAX operations with eleven existing and one planned location in the UK and three cinemas in Europe.
