Open Road Films has acquired US rights to John Hillcoat’s upcoming heist thriller Triple Nine, which international rights holder Sierra/Affinity has introduced to buyers at the EFM.

Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck star and Michael B Jordan from Fruitvale Station, Gal Gadot, Michael Pena, Teresa Palmer and Aaron Paul are in talks to join the cast.

Hillcoat is scheduled to begin shooting Triple Nine this summer. The story centres on a trainee police officer who foils a heist by corrupt colleagues. Open Road negotiated the deal with CAA and will release in 2015.
