Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has appointed Angel Orengo as senior vice president, distribution, Asia Pacific, replacing Ross Pollack who is leaving the company to head up Hong Kong-based Celestial Pictures.

Orengo was most recently SPT’s senior vice president, distribution, Latin America and the Caribbean, a post he had held since 2007.

Relocating from Miami to SPT’s regional headquarters in Hong Kong, Orengo will oversee distribution across Asia, Australia and New Zealand, reporting to SPT president, international distribution, Keith Le Goy.

“Angel has brilliantly led the expansion of SPT’s distribution business throughout Latin America,” said Le Goy. “He inherits a fantastic distribution team that has made us an active partner for our clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region. I am confident that with his leadership and innovative ideas, we will build even stronger ties with our partners.”
