France’s Other Angle has acquired Sundance competitor Fix Me for international sales.
Raed Andoni’s debut film is about his own life and chronicles his own therapy sessions as he attempts to deal with is issues of displacement and alienation. The film takes an ironic, slyly humoristic look at the world through his experiences.
The film, Andoni’s debut, will screen in Sundance’s World Documentary section. He also wrote the film. It is produced by Nicolas Wadimoff, Nadia Turincev and Julie Gayet. Palmyre Badinier executive produced the Palestinian-Franco-Swiss effort. Co-producers are Arte France and TSR Switzerland.
Other Angle has also recently sold the remake rights to French hit La Premiere Etoile to Chris Rock for an English-language version. The original, a comedy about a working-class black family on a ski trip, made $13.8m at the local box office. Lucien Jean-Baptiste directed.
Meanwhile, the Rock-produced remake of British parlour comedy Death At A Funeral will be released by Screen Gems in the US in April.
