Michael Douglas, a Golden Globe supporting actor nominee for Wall Street 2, will receive the 22nd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival’s (PSIFF) Icon Award.
Douglas will collect the honour on January 13 followed by a screening of Solitary Man, the recent release in which he stars.
The Icon Award celebrates “a creative talent who, through the course of his or her career, has created a body of work which symbolises the highest level of achievement in the motion picture art form. “
The actor earned a lead actor Academy Award in 1988 for portraying Gordon Gekko in Wall Street and shared the best picture Oscar for producing One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest in 1977.
His credits include Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction, FallingDown, TheGame and Traffic.
