Morgan Freeman will receive the Career Achievement Award For Acting at the The 21st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in January.

The festival runs from January 5-18, 2010. Freeman won the best supporting actor Academy Award in 2005 for Million Dollar Baby and is expected to figure prominently in this season’s awards race for his portrayal of Nelson Mandela in Clint Eastwood’s upcoming Invictus.
