After signing a virtual print fee digital cinema deal with Arts Alliance Media recently, Paramount is now also working with the company for digital downloads.
Paramount Digital Entertainment International will provide Paramount Pictures films for digital distribution on AAM's Vizumi network (including partner sites such as LoveFilm and Tiscali), both as downloads to own and downloads to rent.
The deal covers both catalogue and new films, ranging from The Untouchables to Mission: Impossible III.
'The deal with Arts Alliance Media marks another important milestone for Paramount 's global digital distribution strategy,' said Thomas Lesinski, president of Paramount Digital Entertainment. 'As we seek to broaden our digital footprint across Europe, I'm confident that with the quality and depth of our movie catalogue, along with the strength of our current releases and our upcoming slate, we will provide a compelling proposition for our consumers and our partners alike.'
By adding Paramount content, Arts Alliance Media said it now has the largest online distribution rights collection in Europe, with content from the likes of Fox, Sony, Universal, Warner, Momentum, Icon, and Tartan.
