More buyers are checking in to Chalet Girl, the British romantic comedy directed by Phil Traill and starring Felicity Jones, Ed Westwick, Tamsin Egerton, Brooke Shields, Bill Bailey and Bill Nighy.
Paramount has now picked up German and Swiss rights to the film, sold internationally by Metropolis International Sales.
Produced by Pippa Cross, Harriet Rees, Dietmar Guentsche and Wolfgang Behr, and written by Tom Williams, Chalet Girl is the story of a young woman from a working class suburb who lands a job in an upmarket ski resort, where she’s totally out of her depth until she discovers her natural snowboarding genius - and the boss’ gorgeous son.
“We are glad to have found such great partners for Chalet Girl in our territory. Sven Sturm and his young team are working extremely hard on the release plans. They are an ideal distributor for our teenage audience movie,” says Dietmar Guentsche of Neue Bioskop.
Metropolis International has already closed deals with Momentum for the UK, Alliance (Canada), Transmission (Australia), Entertainment One (Benelux), Lusomundo (Portugal), Phars (Middle East), Independent Distributors, (Israel), Video Vision (South Africa), R Film (Turkey), CP Digital (CIS), Grandview Castle (Eastern Europe excluding Poland), EIM (Airlines), Polsat (Poland) and Audiovisual (Greece).
The film is released in the UK by Momentum on Feb 18 and in Germany by Paramount on March 10.
