Park Circus Films has signed a deal with Sony Pictures Repertory to handle the worldwide theatrical distribution of its classic film back catalogue. It includes David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia and Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver.
The deal, which does not include North America, covers 3,500 classic and modern titles from 1924 onwards. It covers films from Colombia Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Animation and Tristar and contains 11 Academy Award Best Picture winners.
Nick Varley, Park Circus managing director, said the company would work with exhibitors and festivals to get the films back on cinema screens around the world.
