Pathe International has announced a slew of deals after a successful Cannes Market.

Stephen Frears' Cheri, making its market premiere, sold to Italy (Rai), Latin America (California Filmes), CIS (Maywin Media), South Korea (Mars Film), Portugal (Castello Lopes), the Middle East (Teleview), Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia (Vizion), Greece (Audiovisual), Hungary (Budapest), Romania (Media Pro), Israel (Shapira) and South Africa (Sterkinekor).

The film, set in 1920s Paris,stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Rupert Friend, Felicity Jones and Kathy Bates.

Also, Pathe showed first footage of Jane Campion's Keats romance Bright Star, selling it to Germany (Tobis), Canada (TVA), Brazil (Playarte), Czech Republic and Slovakia (Hollywood Classics), Hong Kong (Golden Scene), Israel (Lev Cinemas), and the Baltics (Acme). That project, which just finished shooting, stars Abbie Cornish and Ben Whishaw in the story of young poet John Keats' unlikely relationship with the girl next door.

Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud's feature documentary Oceans sold to Japan (Gaga), CIS (Maywin) and the Baltics (Acme). Pathe scored a pre-Cannes deal on the project with Disney for North America.

Also, Pathe showed first footage from Danny Boyle's India-set Slumdog Millionaire, which saw deals for Italy (Lucky Red), Australia/New Zealand (Icon), Japan (Gaga), South Korea (Media Soft), and Israel (Lev).

Sylvain Chomet's animated The Illusionist, still in production, sold to Greece (Audiovisual), CIS (Maywin), Brazil (Playarte), Portugal (Castello Lopes), Czech Republic and Slovakia (Hollywood Classics), Israel (Lev) and the Baltics (Acme).

Also still in production, The Descent 2 saw further deals to Latin America (California Filmes), Japan (Kadokawa), Benelux (Dutch Filmworks), Taiwan (Applause), Singapore and Malaysia (Festive Films), Indonesia (Queen Imperial) and Thailand (M Pictures).

Eden Lake, which saw its first screening in the market, sold to Benelux (Dutch Filmworks), Scandinavia (Atlantic Film), Poland (Vision), South Africa (Sterkinekor) and Singapore (Festive Films). Another market debut, Mark Tonderai's Hush, sold to Germany (Ascot Elite), Scandinavia (NonStop) and South Africa (Sterkinekor).

Dany Boon's Welcome To The Sticks (Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tis) went to Italy (Medusa), the Netherlands (Paradiso), Greece (Audiovisual), Hungary (Best Hollywood), Singapore (Cathay), and Israel (Eden).

Other deals were Nicolas Bary's Trouble At Timpetill (Les Enfants de Timpelbach) to Eastern Europe (Vizion), Brazil (California Filmes), South Korea (Daisy), Greece (Audiovisual), and Portugal (Castello Lopes). Agathe Clery sold to Germany (Prokino), Italy (Mikado), Canada (Alliance), Greece (Audiovisual), Portugal (Pantheon), Israel (Lev) and Singapore (Cathay). LOL sold to Greece (Audiovisual), Israel (Lev) and Brazil (California Filmes).

Saul Dibb's The Duchess starring Keira Knightley sold to Taiwan (SSG); Faubourg 36 (Paris 36) sold to Singapore (Cathay), Mes Amis, Mes Amours (My Friends, My Loves) sold to South Korea (Daisy) and Skate Or Die sold to Japan (Asmik Ace) and Taiwan (Applause).

Pathe is still negotiating deals, including a North American acquisition, for Walter Salles and Daniela Thomas' Linha De Passe, a Cannes Competition title that won best actress for Sandra Corveloni.
