Peace Arch Entertainment has acquired international rights to Oh My God, Peter Rodger’s documentary in which celebrities, religious leaders and ordinary people discuss their perception of god.
Sales chief Julie Sultan will introduce Oh My God to Cannes buyers next week. Rodger spent three years on the project and travelled through 23 countries canvassing people’s opinions about the notion of a creator.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine star Hugh Jackman, Baz Luhrmann, Ringo Starr, David Copperfield, Seal, Bob Geldof and Princess Michael Of Kent are among the contributors.
“When you delve into subject matter that is universal you need to take a universal approach to your exploration, and this led us to amazing groups of people and locations that we hope will captivate audiences as much as they did us,” Rodger, who also produced, said.
Adam Krentzman, Horacio Altamirano and Metin Anter served as executive producers.
Sultan hailed the film as “a stunning view of our world”, adding: “It’s a thought-provoking, discussion-creating emotional experience. I’m thrilled to bring it to Cannes.”
