Pepsi and MOFILM are teaming up again to launch Pepsi Films, a yearlong global competition for young film-makers.
The project will host seven short film competitions throughout the year with three winners for each competition. Film-makers have to produce a 60-second film responding to a theme. The winners of each competition will attend an international film festival and then have their entries judged by a jury. $400,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded globally during 2011.
The first competition is now open for Barcelona where the themes are “Wake Up,” “Pop-Fizz Aaaah,” and “Hit Delete.” There is a $10,000 first place award for each theme and the grand-prize winner will work on a film for Pepsi Spain. The remaining six competitions will take place at the Tribeca Film Festival, Poland Film Festival, Rio International Film Festival, International Shanghai Film Festival, International Film Festival Di Roma and International Film Festival of India.
Pepsi Films is part of the brand’s worldwide Refresh Your World campaign, which lets youth show their creativity and make a positive change in the world.
